What do you most enjoy about your work?
I enjoy getting the best possible outcome for a client with regard to their planned building’s energy performance, cost, and design efficiency.
One tip you’d give on building sustainability?
Orientation of a house with good solar access to the primary living areas is often overlooked in typical building designs. For more complex houses, the trend to use larger glazing areas can be detrimental and as windows are the main energy loss (and gain) points for a house, their placement and size should be considered very carefully in the design process.
